Xiaomi Mi 8 Explorer Edition Going On Sale at 3600 Yuan

On May 31, Xiaomi announced its annual flagship, the Mi 8. But apart from this regular version, there were two other models. The Xiaomi Mi 8 SE is considered as the lightened version of original one, while the Xiaomi Mi 8 Explorer Edition is the enhanced variant. It is the first in the world in many aspects. And today, this amazing will go on sale in a few hours (at 19:30 Beijing time) for a price tag of 3600 yuan ($527).

The first and most outstanding feature that makes the Xiaomi Mi 8 Explorer Edition unique is the 3D structured light technology. Thus, we are dealing with the world’s first Android-powered smartphone that supports a technology outrunning Apple’s Face ID. However, unlike the iPhone's speckle structure light scheme, the Xiaomi Mi 8 Explorer Edition uses a coded structured light. The scheme creates a millimeter-scale 3D facial model with 33,000 coded lattices projected by a dot matrix projector, and the probability of being cracked can be as low as one in a million.

At the same time, the Xiaomi Mi 8 Explorer Edition is also the world's first pressure-sensitive screen fingerprint smartphone. The screen has a built-in high-sensitivity pressure sensor that supports vibration feedback. Actually, there is no difference between the traditional Home key unlocking experience.

At the same time, the Xiaomi Mi 8 Explorer Edition inherits the selling point of the traditional Xiaomi Mi 8, the dual-frequency GPS ultra-precise navigation system, while supporting multi-function, built-in voice AI system, etc.

At last, the Xiaomi Mi 8 Explorer Edition uses a 6.21-inch Samsung AMOLED screen, with a resolution of 2248 × 1080, a Snapdragon 845 processor, an 8GB memory +128GB body storage, a 12MP + 12MP AI zoom dual-camera (supporting AI short video clip recording, AI scene camera (studio light effect + recognition of 206 scenes), a front 20MP camera (supporting micro plastic beauty), a built-in 2900mAh capacity battery, and many more.
