If you are an outdoor person, do any sports or don't live under a rock, you probably know about the existence of action cameras produced by companies like GoPro, Yi, SJCAM etc..
MGCOOL are a new brand that is trying to consolidate in that segment as well, and they've done good up until now in the European and US market with the MGCOOL Explorer, Explorer Elite and more.
At MGCOOL, they also have big aspirations and they want to create cameras that can compete with the bigger names such as GoPro and their latest Hero 5 cam, which as some of you might know, features a GPS module.
What do you need a GPS module for on an action cam, you may ask? Well, the answer is pretty simple. When you're outdoors you take lots of photos and videos and if you're travelling somewhere new, you could not remember with precision where you took that shot. This function gets even more useful out in nature where you have very few points of reference.
Additionally you can also make a footprint of where you've been or add your photos on google maps with a very high precision.
The GPS potisioning is only the latest detail weknow about the MGCOOL Explorer 2, we already know it will have a touch screen and record H.265 4K @30FPS. To know more about the upcoming action camera you can check out MGCOOL's official website or Facebook page.
