According to speculations, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 will come in two versions. One will integrate a 5G modem while the other will not integrate a 5G modem at the chip level. It is not certain whether Sony's next-generation Xperia flagship will have a 5G version. However, there are speculations that it will offer both 4G and 5G versions.

In accordance with Qualcomm's practice, its Snapdragon 865 SoC will probably arrive at the end of this year. In addition, it should be officially available in the first half of next year. If nothing change and everything goes according to plan, the likes of Samsung, Xiaomi, OPPO, vivo, Jiajia, Nubia, Meizu, and other brands are likely to launch smartphones with the Snapdragon 865 SoC. For now, we do not know which of these manufacturers will first use this chip. However, Sony is unlikely to be the first to use this chip.
