A few months back a well-known brand, ORICO unveiled the world’s first USB3.1 Gen2 full-featured HUB with an amazing 10Gbps theoretical transfer rate. In comparison to the USB 3.0 (ie USB 3.1 Gen1), which provides 5Gbps transfer rate, this one offer way faster performance. Today, it became known the ORICO USB3.1 Gen2 full-featured HUB is in works and will release in the nearest future. Besides the official photos, we also have grabbed some important info concerning its features.
Though the transfer speed has been improved a lot, the appearance remains the same. It comes with a classic style using aluminum as the main material. It uses anodic oxidation process as well as come with a user-friendly 32 ° tilt design. The only difference in comparison to the first model it comes in dark gray + orange color combination instead of classic silver.
As for the interfaces, there are four USB3.1 Gen2 ports supporting up to 10Gbps transfer rate. This is twice more than the much popular USB 3.0 (USB3.1 Gen1). Many may think this technology will go viral, but it’s not so. The reason how ORICO achieves such a transfer speed is the new USB3.1 Gen 2 Hub control chip with the world's first USB-IF certified USB hub controller named VIA VL820. It is compatible with Windows, Linux, and Mac OS.
It’s reported the first ORICO USB3.1 Gen2 full-featured HUB will carry a model number of M3H4-G2 and will hit the market very soon. But there is no info concerning either the pricing or the exact launch date.
