Join ZTE’s Project CSX to create the next big idea in mobile

ZTE are thinking out of the box with their latest idea, a crowdsourced device built under Project CSX.

How many times have you read the specs of the latest Android smartphone only to think you could have done way better if only the company had asked? A smartphone with will killer specs let down by a tiny battery, or a device with wads of RAM only to be limited on the amount it can use! Surely we as a community could do better?

Well this is the idea behind ZTE’s Project CSX, which plans to engage end users and the community in order to build the next big thing in mobile tech.

In fairness this isn’t the first time we have seen this idea. UMi offered fans a similar idea when building a devices earlier in the year, but only offered a set few features to choose from where as ZTE have blank slate and what your ideas to fill in the blanks.

Project CSX is so open to new ideas that ZTE are open to any mobile device (it has to be a mobile device as its one of the rules) meaning it could be a phone, tablet, or even a pocketable drone.

Other rules state ideas must be viable i.e you can’t throw insane specs about and hope it will be made, and the device must be affordable.

The winning product won’t only be made, but those who’s ideas are chosen will be given cash prices and a chance to travel to CES in LA.
