HTC Revenue Drops in April, It's Now Less than $10 Million

HTC has released the financial results for the month of April and once again there is nothing to celebrate; sadly. The latest data does indeed confirm the fact that the Taiwanese manufacturer continues to experience a crisis that has been going on for a long time and for which it does not seems to be able to find a solution.

As you probably know, HTC has been focusing its efforts on niche products (from blockchain to VR headsets) but the collapse of sales in the mobile sector is clearly affecting the brand. Now, with the global coronavirus emergency, the Taiwanese company is experiencing the last blow, with the worst results ever seen. Which is quite sad considering that it was one of the largest smartphone manufacturers in the world only ten years back.

Talking about the numbers, HTC has seen an overall revenue of 10 million dollars for the month of April; with a decrease of 31.25% compared to the previous month and as much as 49.86% compared to April of 2019.

This means that the small growth we saw in the month of March is already an old memory. Meanwhile if we look at the total revenue since the beginning of the year, we see a total of 1.627 billion Taiwanese dollars; which is about $54 million USD. That is a 53.99% decrease compared to the same period of last year.

What can we say, we really hope HTC finally gets back on track, but as far as numbers are concerned, that doesn't appear to be happening anytime soon.
