HTC Desire 728G uses a MediaTek MT6753, offers GSM + CDMA support

HTC has been up to some interesting stuff lately; after copying the iPhone 6 in the form of the HTC One A9, they even replicated the popular '1984' ad from Apple.

The newest from the company, however, is something that's more original than the A9 or the new ad. The HTC Desire 728G, as it is known, is a phone that's powered by the MediaTek MT6753 octa-core processor, and costs an equivalent of $270 in India (17,990 INR).

But what's interesting about this phone is its support for GSM as well as CDMA networks. CDMA phones are still prevalent in India, where a few companies like Reliance Communications and Tata DoCoMo offer CDMA connections.

Coming back to the Desire 728G, the device has a 5.5-inch 1280 x 720p display, a 13 mega-pixel rear camera, 5 mega-pixel front facing camera and a 2800mAh battery besides the MT6753 64-bit octa-core processor and 1.5GB RAM.

Very clearly, it's not the CPU, not the RAM or not the camera that you'll be buying the Desire 728G for; it'll be its the network support.
