Although it currently only serves a very small niche, HDR10+ will soon end up on Google Play Movies. When you think of films and series, the last place to watch them is on Google Play films. Nevertheless, there seem to be enough users to improve its current services. According to a recent announcement from the American manufacturer, Google Play Films will soon support HDR10+ content. However, improving the display also requires the right hardware for the user. So far, Play Movies already supports HDR10 for content in Ultra HD (4K) resolution.
HDR10+ for Google Play Movies is just a niche product
At the moment, HDR10+ should really only interest a small number of people. It is, therefore, all the more exciting that Google strives to adapt early. There is currently hardly any suitable content for HDR10+ and the right end devices are currently few and far between. For mobile devices, for example, the OnePlus 7 Pro is one of the few Android smartphones with an HDR10+ display. As before, Google Play Movies only offers content for a rental fee or purchase price. There's no streaming subscription like Netflix and Amazon Prime Video. What do you think about this new move from Google?
