Fuchsia OS will be able to run Android apps, confirm new finding

Google's Fuchsia OS has been on and off the radar in 2018 a couple of times and it's quite far from being a full-blown operating system. However, being a product of Google, there's always been an expectation that it would run Android apps in some form or manner. Now, this was not confirmed in any manner, but a new change in Fuchsia repositories found last month has spilled the beans today.

Two repositories were discovered in December that were linked to Android Open Source Project (AOSP) manifest. A readme file was found on one of them today making it all but clear that Android apps will be able to run on Fuchsia OS. Take a look at the readme file's image below. From the new info, it is understood that Google will use a modified version of Android Runtime (ART) that will be run on Fuchsia OS as a native application in .far format. There's still a lot which is uncertain about Fuchsia OS but we expect Google to clear the air sometime this year. Last time we about the operating system was when Huawei was testing it on one of its devices.
