Flyme 6 Will Get “Time Machine” Feature Tomorrow

The latest version of Flyme 6 features a back up feature allowing users to roll back to data up to 2 years old.

While Meizu might be allergic to giving their phones meaningful updates, they’ve been quite progressive with their Flyme OS.

With the launch of the rather mediocre Meizu M5, Meizu also revealed it’s plans to launch Flyme 6, the latest Android based OS and their first to feature a “Time Machine” back up function.

It’s now coincidence that Meizu have chosen to use the name “Time Machine”, its the same as Apple uses for their OSX back up feature and looking at the renders, the UI of the Meizu system is very close to the Apple original.

Meizu say that their Time Machine feature will let user retrieve data that has been accidentally detonated, such as contact details. The feature will remember as far back as 2 years but will only begin recoding your contacts data when you turn it on i.e you can switch it on now and hope to retrieve data from 2014.

Flyme 6 Will Get “Time Machine” Feature Tomorrow

Users will have to download a public beta of OS tomorrow and manually switch Time Machine on (settings > data cloud sync > Time Machine).

We wonder if in the future Flyme will also adapt to allow user to roll back to previous versions of apps, to apps that were deleted, and even backup photos and other data?
