Blackview Crown gets a CyanogenMod 12.1 build

The Blackview Crown might not be the newest phone in town, but the phone just got a new lease of life thanks to a new ROM.

The Crown now runs CyanogenMod 12.1 based on Android 5.1.1. Considering that the phone isn't powered by the most powerful processor in the MediaTek MT6592W, the new ROM should give the device some extra snappiness that would've been missing from the original ROM.

If you aren't aware, the Blackview Crown dates back to last year (which in the smartphone language is quite a long time), and comes with a 5-inch HD display, octa-core MediaTek MT6592W procesor, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of ROM. It has a 2200mAh battery and a 13 mega-pixel rear camera with a 5 mega-pixel front snapper.

You should rejoice if you own one of these, for CyanogenMod 12.1 should extend the usability of the Blackview Crown by a couple or so months. You can watch the phone in action in a little demo video by Blackview as below.
