Asus ZenWatch 2 gets its pricing announced, and it's fairly attractive

It's been a good few months since Asus first showed the ZenWatch 2, but the Taiwan-based electronics maker announced the pricing info for the Android Wear device only today.

At the ongoing IFA, Asus announced that the ZenWatch 2 would cost €149/€169 (or roughly US$170/US$190) for the 49mm 1.6-inch display and the 45mm 1.45-inch display versions.

Both models of the ZenWatch 2 come with Snapdragon 400 processors 512MB of RAM and 4GB of on-board storage, which should be more than plenty for what the watch is designed to do. The displays on both versions are AMOLED, which should also help conserve battery at times. Speaking of battery, Asus says the ZenWatch 2 can last for up to two days on a single charge when used in 'ambient mode', i.e., as a regular watch. What's more, even charging should be faster -- up to 50% according to Asus -- on the ZenWatch 2.

You'll be able to create your own watch faces for the ZenWatch 2 via a tool the company will provide, if the bundled ones don't make you happy. The watches themselves will be available in Rose Gold, Silver and Gunmetal color versions with the smaller and the larger versions compatible with 18mm and 22mm straps respectively.

The ZenWatch 2 should be available this October, but pricing for anywhere else other than Europe is yet to be revealed.
